Winter walks near Corfe Castle

Tyneham where time stopped in 1943...Often referred to as Dorset’s ‘lost’ village, only the memories of who used to live here now remain. The Village was evacuated in December 1943 during WWII and has been deserted ever since. The area was needed for military training but after the war ended, the villagers were not allowed to return. The Village remains part of the Armoured Fighting Vehicles Gunnery School, an important training establishment of the British Army. A beautiful walk can be found here

Arne is not only a brilliant Dorset bird watching spot, it’s also one of the few remaining places where all six of the UK’s native reptiles can be found. Situated on Poole Harbour and within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, landscapes don’t get much more breathtaking than Arne. A 4 mile loop around Arne can be found here

Chapmans Pool well worth the walk a wild and secluded bay where you can see away the hours watching the odd passing boat and reading a good book, Chapman’s Pool is hard to beat. A walk from Worth Matravers to Chapmans Pool can be found here

Worth Matravers head down to Winspit and then across to Dancing Ledge and then back up to the village. This is a beautiful circular route with stunning views across the coast. This circular route can be found here
